For Gmail users, click on the +GOOGLE Calendar link at the bottom right corner of the calendar and add the VIA’s Calendar to your Google Calendar View. You’ll always have the latest VIA meeting information at your fingertips!
The VIA is an active organization that uses state-of-the-art technology to manage our efforts to maximize our effectiveness and minimize our costs. This page is intended as a reference for members to learn about new IT training, policies, practices, and standards.
The VIA’s IT Committee manages the following systems: Google Workspace (our VIA Intranet and file system), this VIA website and the Bucks County Designer House & Gardens website, Constant Contact (for email publicity and contact with our various Designer House partners and with the public), Facebook and other social media, PayPal, Eventbrite, and ThunderTix . . . and the list goes on. Want to learn website coding? How about Google administration or app use? WE support our Google system and our websites’ page changes. WE give the training and help to our members. Why? Because it saves money so we have more to give to our charities and because it’s fun! Come join us.
Google Drive and Apps Training: The IT Committee provides periodic training classes on use of the VIA’s file system and on the suite of Google apps. We have a generic VIA member login if you simply want to view the organizations policies, bylaws, history or other basic documents. We also create a personal Google account for you when you join the VIA, but you must have basic file-safety training if you want a password so you may log into the VIA’s general or your committees’ files. Please watch the newsletter for scheduled training classes. If you have more than two members interested in training, contact SysAdmins@VIA-Doylestown.org to schedule a custom training session.
Keeping the VIA’s information safe and secure is a priority for our organization. This is possible only with your support and action. Please review these IT Best Practices.

Elevator Speech:
The marketing committee has agreed on the following Elevator Speech as a standard conversation to train our members to speak about when referencing the VIA.
Founded in 1895, the Village Improvement Association of Doylestown is a vibrant organization of over 300 women. We fulfill the mission of enhancing the health and welfare of Central Bucks County and surrounding communities through governance of the nationally-recognized, award-winning Doylestown Health System and other community-benefiting efforts such as grants, support for those in need and educational scholarships. To support these efforts we hold fundraising events; the largest is the Bucks County Designer House & Gardens.
Standard Boiler Plate for Donations:
The following boilerplate language was developed for use in presentations and written materials provided to organizations to whom the VIA is providing funding donations and in opportunities when the VIA can be promoted.
The Village Improvement Association of Doylestown is a women’s nonprofit organization whose mission is to enhance the health and welfare of Central Bucks County and surrounding communities. In 1923 they founded Doylestown Hospital and continue to govern this award-winning regional healthcare facility. The VIA also sponsors the Bucks County Designer House & Gardens, its largest fundraiser benefitting Doylestown Health and the VIA’s mission. As a part of our (insert year) community outreach, we have received funds from the VIA.
