The VIA is an active organization that relies on continued member-and-community support to hold events that engage our constituents. It offers educational programs at monthly meetings and fundraising events. Consider attending a meeting, enjoying an event or lending a hand to make it all happen. Membership meetings are held monthly October through June. Each meeting begins with an information or entertaining presentation and is then followed with on overview of VIA recent and upcoming activities.
125th Anniversary Dinner (September 27, 2019) – on April 26, 2020, the VIA will celebrate its 125th Anniversary. A kick-off dinner celebrating the organization’s accomplishments will be held on September 27, 2019 to begin the celebration. The event will be held at Hotel du Village in New Hope, PA. Other events will be held throughout the year.
Membership Meeting (October 1, 2019) – Celebrate the start of the VIA ‘s 125th Anniversary with A Panel Discussion highlighting the VIA’s accomplishments over the last 125 years.
Evening Meeting (October) – at this evening meeting, members will hear a presentation about the VIA’s accomplishments in the past year and goals for the upcoming year. It is also an opportunity for new members to learn about the organization.
Petite Luncheon (November 5, 2019) – Each fall organization members enjoy a light sit-down luncheon and an educational program at Doylestown Health. The Veterans Committee also awards grants to selected area organizations providing services and benefits to veterans. This month’s program will be WWII Women Spies.
Card & Game Party (October 19, 2019)– Gather for a friendly foursome for games, cards, door prizes, raffles, and lunch!
Holiday Programming (December)– Join us for the end of year celebration, filled with holiday cheer, activities, treats, and entertainment. Three excellent musicians help us celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa.

Membership Meeting (February) – Heart month will focus on the cardiac care provided at Doylestown Hospital.¶
Membership Meeting (March) – Women Suffrage 100th Anniversary
Membership Meeting (April) – The Significance of the VIA in Doylestown along with state and local proclamations.
Membership Meeting (May) – Rothman Institute Program
Evening in the Garden (May) – Event held in the evening at Bucks County Designer House to discuss the mission and vision of the VIA. This evening focuses on the importance of the organization and encourages potential new members to join and learn about opportunities within the organization.
Bucks County Designer House & Gardens (May) – The Bucks County Designer House is the VIA’s largest fundraiser that supports Doylestown Hospital and other VIA Community Projects. A spacious home is made available by a homeowner and it is completely redecorated by interior designers and landscapers and then opened to the public for tours. This annual fundraiser is coordinated by the Designer House Committee. Use of a local home is donated for premier area designers and landscapers to transform. A cafe and boutiques are also available to add to visitor interest. Several thousand visitors attend each year. The event kicks off with an Empty House Party in February and a Preview Gala held on the Friday before the house opens. The event is held from the last Sunday in April through the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend.

Memorial Day Parade (May) – each Memorial Day, VIA members participate in the Doylestown Memorial Day Parade (the longest continuously-running parade in the country). Usually accompanying them is someone who rides a bicycle and portrays Miss Norma Munsey, one of the first Visiting Nurses hired by the VIA to serve the healthcare needs of the community.
June Member Luncheon (June) – Annual luncheon includes a sit-down lunch with an update on the VIA activities throughout the year, and biennial induction of new officers. Educational Scholarships are awarded every year and HOBY scholarship recipients also attend. Every other year Community Recognition Awards are presented.
Doylestown Health Designer House Luncheon (June) – Hosted by Doylestown Health, this luncheon is held to show the health system’s appreciation for the Bucks County Designer House Committee and Hospital Associates who supported the fundraiser.
Social Events (Throughout the year) – Organized by the Social committee all VIA members are invited to attend outings to museums, theater shows, lunches, and dinners. These events build lasting memories and friendships.
