Who Benefits?
Below is a brief description of some of the VIA initiatives and their mission in our community.
Welfare: The VIA’s Welfare Committee provides assistance to individuals in need and organizations in our community to provide food, shelter, clothing, car seats for newborns, and prescription medicines. This is done with absolute confidentiality and compassion for those who are helped.
Women’s Scholarship Fund: Provides modest financial support for eligible women who seek education or vocational training necessary to prepare them for the job market.
Educational Scholarships: Scholarships are granted to graduating high school students who reside in the Central Bucks School District and have been accepted by a college or university for study in a human health-related field.
Community Response: The VIA’s Community Response Committee awards grants for unmet community health and human service needs.
James-Lorah Memorial Home: Provides funds for the operation, maintenance, restoration and preservation of the historic home and its contents. The home is available for tours as well as public and private events in the auditorium.
Veterans: Provides funds to support veteran causes in our community including active service and retired veterans and their families.
VIA Unrestricted Endowment: Provides funding to sustain the mission of the VIA.
