Enhancing the Health and Welfare
of Central Bucks County and Surrounding Communities
The VIA is an active organization that relies on continued member-and-community support to hold events that engage our constituents. It offers educational programs at monthly meetings and fundraising events. Consider attending a meeting, enjoying an event or lending a hand to make it all happen. Membership meetings are held monthly October through June. Each meeting begins with an information or entertaining presentation and is then followed with on overview of VIA recent and upcoming activities.
Tickets: CLICK HERE or on either picture to open a downloadable ticket order form.
Parking Garage Shuttle: This year a shuttle will be available outside the County parking garage on Broad Street starting at 11:15am until 12:15pm and then, again, at 3:00pm to return guests to the parking garage.
This event includes raffles, door prizes, and a light lunch.
Winning raffle numbers will be displayed on an overhead screen, eliminating the need for microphone announcements, which allows the card and game players uninterrupted game time.
History: After founding VIA member, Miss Sarah James, bequeathed her house to the VIA in 1954, members often enjoyed playing bridge in the parlor. “Bridge in the parlor” became cards and games in the auditorium as a fundraiser for the VIA’s Conservation Committee. Card tables of four are set up for such games as bridge, pinochle, and the ever-popular mahjong, but you may bring any table game you want. The proceeds from the Card and Game Party benefit the mission of the VIA in several ways; they are used to help maintain the gardens around our historic home and to update the names of our past presidents on the wall plaque displayed in Doylestown Hospital.
