Enhancing the Health and Welfare
of Central Bucks County and Surrounding Communities
The VIA is an active organization that relies on continued member-and-community support to hold events that engage our constituents. It offers educational programs at monthly meetings and fundraising events. Consider attending a meeting, enjoying an event or lending a hand to make it all happen. Membership meetings are held monthly October through June. Each meeting begins with an information or entertaining presentation and is then followed with on overview of VIA recent and upcoming activities.

The VIA tree is adorned with miniature furniture and little houses, representing our annual Bucks County Designer House & Gardens. Poinsettia, festive yellow ribbons, and lights bring your attention to the VIA’s continuing work supporting our communities. The pictures near the tree explain more about the VIA and show early VIA members marching in Doylestown’s 1912 parade. In 2022, we continue the VIA’s work to maintain Doylestown Hospital as the area’s premier community healthcare resource. We provide scholarships for local youth and women reentering the job market. We support local veterans and military causes. And we continue to care for and improve the wonderful James-Lorah Memorial Home (deeded to the VIA by charter VIA member, Miss Sarah James, one of the 1912 marchers). And we have fun doing it!
The annual VIA addition to the Pearl Buck Festival of Trees is designed and created by the VIA’s Floral Arts Committee. Shown below are members (L-R) Ginny Riedley, Mary C. Dischinger, Louanne McConnell, and Grace Carr. The second picture shows Louanne McConnell and Mary C. Dischinger.
